Praise Assembly of God 1984-2022

Praise Assembly of God opened its doors in August of 1984 under the leadership of Pastor Lyle Van Horn.  The early members of PAG were committed to the Pentecostal doctrine, the Great Commission, and the Great Commandment.  It was the original desire that we as a body worship God in Spirit and in Truth.  Praise Assembly began meeting in the Mexico Town Hall.  After a few years PAG moved to the Knights of Columbus Hall in Roxbury for a short period of time.  After returning to the Mexico Town Hall in the late 1980's PAG purchased a building on 2.5 acres and moved to 170 Andover Road in Rumford under Pastor Rob Rainville in 1991.  Pastor Rainville was pastor of PAG from 1989 to 1997.  In May of 1998 Pastor James Michaels became PAG's third pastor.  Pastor Michaels led PAG until February of 2002.

After 18 months without an under-shepherd, our current pastor, Justin Thacker became PAG's fourth pastor on August 10, 2003.  Pastor Justin and Mary came to us from Maryland and we praise God for this family.  In May of 2015, after 15 years of marriage, Hannah May Thacker was born Pastor Justin and Mary.

In November of 2018 Pastor Joe Clark, his wife Sommer, and three children Andrew, Lucas, and Leanna became part of our family as Pastor Joe became our Youth/Young Adult Pastor.  We praise God for this wonderful family that invest everyday in the lives of our future.

In October 2019 Alisha Holtorf became our Church Administrator.  Alisha does a great job overseeing the progression and execution of church ministry within the church office.

At PAG we love Missions!  We believe strongly that Missions is God's heartbeat and must be carried out and supported both at home and abroad.  We currently support 21 missionaries from around the world at $60 per month.  We support Missions projects, BGMC, Speed the Light, Light for the Lost, and the Coin Fund.  We also have two home Missions projects that we do every year.  In August we have Culture of Compassion. A ministry to bring food, clothing, back to school supplies, many other items, and the gospel to the citizens of the River Valley Community.  In November we do the Thanksgiving Give-Away.  This is a ministry where we distribute turkeys, the fixings, a dessert, and the gospel to residents of the River Valley shortly before Thanksgiving.

At PAG we love Jesus, worshipping His Holy Name, and teaching and learning His powerful Word!  We have dynamic worship services, relevant preaching, children's church, fellowship gatherings, youth group, young adult group, Men's and Women's small groups, and Bible studies for all ages at least twice a week!

At PAG we currently have over 70 people attending regularly on Sunday mornings, 25 people attending Sunday evenings, and 50 people attending on Wednesday evenings.  We currently have 51 official members and are looking forward to growing as the Lord leads.  Praise Assembly continues to grow numerically, financially, and most importantly, spiritually.  We continue to see lives changed and souls saved.   Our focus is still to praise the Wonderful name of Jesus, teach His amazing Word, evangelize the lost, and have compassion on the needy.  May God's favor and blessing continue to be upon us!
